Welcome to a sort of living document where I will be trying to document some of my more noteworthy Bluesky posts that I feel should be shared on this website of mine. They will not be in any order so not alphabetically, chronologically, sorted by length, or any other order. I dont expect to be adding to this often but if I meed something to do while eating lunch or using the toilet when I dont really want to do much of anything, this will be one of things I work on adding onto. And eventually, I will be downloading this site of mine every so often for mostly purposes of documentation. After all, if the evil SCREEN Act or something else like that passes, many websites with adult media and/or media that isn't adult but is labeled "pornographic" by the now blantantly fascist government of the US simply for featuring diversity, queer people/characters, people of color, etc. And considering how freckless and spineless many Democratic Party lawmakers are, there's too much of a chance that things like the SCREEN Act will pass under the guise of protecting children from social media crap. And we need to be prepared for that possibility even though it would be a technological nightmare to enforce.
It would force many websites to enable invasions of privacy like ID verification already seen on platforms like Venmo and CashApp which is already a security issue in itself alone. Age verification beyond just saying youre pver 18 or not seems like a good idea to add but the cons outweigh the benefits. With the US being a surveliance state, especially after the events of 9/11, the NSA, FBI, CIA, and others have been spying on people online. Amazon Echo devices are spyware. Mobile phones are unwittingly tracking devices. And who knows when someone could access an electronic device's camera, even when its user isnt even using it. That's why I put tape on the cameras of my electronic devices when Im not using said cameras. That's not delusional paranoia at work. Any major public structure in the US has security cameras that watch everything that happens, bar the bathrooms sometimes and a few blind spots. A surveliance state in my opinion is a paranoid state, afraid of allowing anyone to have true privacy. What's more is that you can bet some members of the GOP would love to spy on bedrooms, in case any queer people are having fun on the bed together, which goes against what their pathetic foolishness deems as "moral and decent behavior".
And it can be assumed that microphones on mobile devices are probably being accessed without permission too. Isn't it strange when you talk about something irl and then you get an ad about it? That isn't always by pure chance. Since the US government, especially hostiles within it who want to strip people like me of our birthrights which are our human rights likes to spy on everything they can online including my and your devices.. Well, we gotta bolster our cybersecurity as best as we can. Use VPNs, turn off GPS when not using it for anything, turn off Bluetooth when not using it either, don't post pictures of your real face online anymore if you still do that(or cover it up good like a ninja would), don't post where you work or go outside of extremely private and encyrpted channels(you can post about where you've gone but I recommend waiting at least a couple weeks until after you return from it and being vague about when you did and all that), don't click on ads, turn off personalized ads and things like browser history, avoid using your legal name online if you can(my screen name's better than my legal name personally, it feels much more me), don't talk about committing crimes on social media(don't even joke about doing them. If you're really going to risk actually doing them, no one can know you plan to or even after you did it. Only tell one person you can fully trust in person if you can), look out for signs of gaslighting and other manipulative tactics employed by abusers, don't use AI slop for anything, disable AI slop search results, put curse words into the search bar along with what you want to see when searching for images, and more.
These are not the worst times in human history per se because we can argue all day about what's worse than what but I think we can all at least agree that things really started to take a nosedive again in many ways after gay marriage was legalized in the US. The following rise of the far right was partially a reaction to that. I talk about these kinds of things on my Bluesky page as well and I believe I have covered enough on this topic. Let's get back to why you're really here to read this very page. You want the juice. The posts I find valuable enough that were of my creation to put on here.
I have said this several other times on this site but I'm going to say it anyway. I want to become a real modern knight, a protector of others equipped enough to protect them while minimizing my chance of death while doing so. I'm not talking about knighthood in the vain of the Knights Of Columbus in the modern day here. Do they even have any instructional things on self defense or marital arts there? Even if yes, I still wouldn't join them because Im non binary and an atheist who used to be Catholic. Anyway, this section is dedicated to posts about knights Ive made that I want to share here.
March 8th, 2025: I need to take my aspirations to become a knight of the people more seriously. That means devoting myself to sword training as much as I did before I got pretty badly ill in November. I feel physically and emotionally well at the moment so I’m okay right now. I also need to take following the longsword training instruction series I started watching more seriously and actually do it on a daily basis. It begins with the very basics and makes things more complex gradually by putting those basics together & adding more moves to it gradually as well. But being a knight is more than like skill and knights were rendered obsolete for anything military or martial related centuries ago. There was a time knights actually used guns centuries in the past. It was a brief time but it happened. What I’m trying to do is to become a knight within the framework of anarchism/communism/socialism, bringing together knightly values that are compatible with them. This is like a reinvention of the knight but not entirely because knights are still revered and portrayed as largely defenders of the innocent. I truly believe we can better fight off fascism if we use the virtues of knights against it while discarding crap that serves patriarchies and was part of knightly values centuries ago. Loyalty to the monarchy or the church? Nah. Loyalty to fellow workers. Yes. I need to work on doing what I can to really embody what it means to be a knight within an anti-hierarchical framework. It’s not just a martial effort, it’s a mental effort more so than anything because to be good at say, swordplay, you have to have a solid mentality about it to begin with.
And obviously, plate armor doesn’t work against modern guns so I have to get gear that protects against bullets. I’m still keeping my plate armor though. Currently, we see people make knightly OCs, cosplay as knights, or serve as members of organizations whose members are known as knights and typically do community service willingly and stuff like that. That’s as close as we have largely gotten to medieval knights fighting in battle in the modern age alongside people just plainly embodying knightly values because most knightly values are genuinely good values that people should basically have. And those values aren’t just restricted to knightly figures. Duh. Also, can you imagine the right crapping themselves should some people just turn the idea of knighthood into something to curb stomp fascism with? Medieval knights are admired by people across the entire damn political spectrum and are sometimes romanticized. The whole idea of knighthood is used to curb stomp fascism in my stories and I honestly need to spend more time writing the antagonists reacting to seeing plate armored knights helping crush their plans and empires and corporations alongside assassins, pirates, aliens, ninja, meme characters like Ultimate Shaggy, death metal musicians, and others. (Why yes, I do love myself some unusual pairings and motley crews)
